The Boiling Heat Transfer Laboratory's fundamental research and development is in the area of single and multi-phase fluids. Enhanced heat transfer studies have a wide impact on the design of heat exchanger systems. Recent studies performed in this laboratory have focused on twisted tape enhanced flows, enhanced heat transfer surfaces, boiling and condensing refrigerant flows, and ice-water slurries.
